A debut original Christmas release from Sydney based Americana artist Merilyn Steele, this is a happy, upbeat song that paints the picture of what might be a typical Christmas for many.

The song takes you on a visual journey of the Christmas experience starting from the preparation of putting up the decorations, the shopping, right up to the magic of the day.

It also sends a message that says no matter what you believe or don't believe regarding Christmas, just get together with family and friends and enjoy each other’s company.
Along with some good anti-stress advice - "it doesn't mean that everything has to be perfect".

Warning...It has a very catchy melodic hook that will get in your head!

I’m pulling tinsel out and hanging decorations
I place a star atop the tree
I hang red stockings in a row along the mantle
Feels like it’s Christmas time to me!

It’s time to hit the stores and shop for all those presents
The list is long, deep and wide
Santa’s on his chair having photo’s with the children
Their faces light up with delight

And there’s a choir singing carols (jingle bells)
People are rushing everywhere (rushing everywhere)
Have they forgotten the true meaning of the season?
Maybe there’s some who just don’t care!

We all have our own beliefs about Christmas, but
Merry Christmas anyway!

We get up early with excited little children
To see if Santa Claus has been
The floor’s soon covered up with toys’n bows and paper
All lying underneath the tree

Christmas is here at last we’re gathered at the table
We smile for the photograph
We pull the bon bon’s with those useless little trinkets
We read the jokes from them and laugh

There’s enough food to feed an army
We drink a toast to Christmas day (Christmas day)
We all hope to find some pennies in our pudding
And have leftovers the next day!
